Getting you started

Orientation Information

GCA delivers a comprehensive orientation program at the commencement of each trimester to welcome and support new students. The program is designed to facilitate a smooth transition into the learning environment and to ensure that students are well-prepared to begin their studies at GCA.

Orientation Information

Orientation serves as an essential introduction to student life at GCA, offering new students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the campus environment, finalise their enrolment, and begin forming connections within the student community. The program includes a series of informative and engaging sessions designed to ease the transition into higher education and support academic and personal readiness.

GCA conducts an orientation program at the beginning of each trimester, and attendance is mandatory for all newly enrolled students. Participation ensures that students receive critical information regarding academic requirements, support services, administrative procedures, and opportunities for engagement.

To prepare for your transition to GCA, we encourage you to download the Orientation Guide for the current trimester, which contains all the essential details you need to begin your studies with confidence.

The orientation session will include:

  • An overview of life at GCA
  • Course academic advice – course structure, requirements for majors
  • Subject selection guidance and credit transfer (exemptions)
  • Support and welfare services information for students
  • Details about CPA, CA ANZ and IPA accreditation – how it works and what it means when you graduate (B.Accounting and the MBA Accounting degrees)
  • An opportunity to socialise with other students and meet members of the Student Representative Committee (SRC)
  • Your student ID Number and student ID Card
  • An opportunity to have your questions answered
