GCA is committed to complying with the ESOS framework which is comprised of legislative requirements and standards for the quality assurance of education and training institutions offering courses to international students.
The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is an initiative of the Australian Government to assist international and domestic higher education students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their program of study.
GCA will meet the tuition assurance requirements in accordance with the ESOS Act 2000 and the Higher Education Support Act 2003. GCA is committed to joining the TPS to protect students if GCA ceases to provide a program of study in which a student is enrolled. GCA is committed to ensuring that students are protected and are eligible for a refund of the unused portion of any prepaid tuition fees (i.e. tuition for which they have paid but which has not yet been delivered) rather than a full refund, in recognition of the fact that they may obtain credit for the study already completed. Additionally, GCA has a teach out agreements with various providers to ensure that students are not disadvantaged by any discontinuation of services and provides an efficient transfer process in order to meet regulatory requirements monitored by TEQSA.
The TPS ensures that students are able to either:
Complete their studies in another program or with another education provider or receive a refund of their unspent tuition fees.
If SAHE cannot deliver the program a student has paid for, the TPS will help the student find another program with minimal disruption to their studies. The TPS will utilise an online placement service to provide students with all the necessary information, enabling them to understand their options and select an alternative course that best suits their needs. Support in using the system will be available to students as needed. If a student is unable to find a suitable alternative program, the TPS will refund the tuition fees paid for the part of the program that they have not yet received.
Students can contact the TPS by using the contact details given below:

Within Australia phone: 1300 980 434 Outside Australia phone: +61 1300 980 434

In the unlikely event that GCA is unable to deliver a course in full, the student will be offered a refund of the unused portion of prepaid tuition fees. The refund will be paid to the student within fourteen days of the day on which the course ceased being provided. Alternatively, the student may be offered enrolment in a suitable alternative course at no extra cost. The student has the right to choose whether they would prefer a refund of the unused portion of prepaid tuition fees, or to accept a place in another course.
If the student chooses placement in another course, they will be asked to sign a document to indicate acceptance the placement. If [insert provider name here] is unable to provide a refund or place the student in an alternative course, the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) will assist the student to find a suitable alternative course at no extra cost.
