Course Overview

Unlike standard business degrees, the GCA Bachelor of Business offers a unique entrepreneurial focus through corporate partnerships with industry professionals to deliver practical and relevant learning experiences which develop your leadership skills.

The three-year GCA Bachelor of Business course combines business theory with real-world industry projects, hands-on business simulations, group work and our exclusive Centre for Entrepreneurship (CFE) Mentoring Program, and is ideal as an entry pathway to the prestigious GCA MBA.

Course Structure

The GCA Bachelor of Business comprises twenty-four (24) core units, each worth ten (10) credit points, and is structured for completion over a three-year period, with accelerated study options available. The program establishes a strong foundation in business principles while fostering critical thinking, strategic insight, and the development of leadership capabilities. 

The program offers flexible pathway options, including entry and exit points through the Diploma of Business and the Associate Degree in Business, allowing students to tailor their study journey to suit their individual academic and professional objectives.

Course Fees

At GCA, our course fees are designed and set to ensure that every business professional has the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge.

FEE-HELP (Domestic Students): GCA is a higher education provider that has been approved to offer FEE-HELP. This allows our students to receive FEE-HELP loan assistance to cover some or all of their tuition fees should they wish to do so. You can apply for FEE-HELP during your application process.

Entry Requirements

The requirements that must be satisfied in order to study a Bachelor of Business are in place to ensure we can maintain the high quality of education that GCA provides to the aspiring business professionals and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Domestic Students

Admission to all undergraduate courses are offered at AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) and above, including the Bachelor of Business, require the completion of:

  • The NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), or their equivalent in other states of Australia, with an ATAR of 67.95 or higher (no ATAR adjustments or bonus points are offered by UBSS), completed in the previous three (3) years
  • An accredited Australian Vocational Education Training qualification recognised at AQF Level 5 (Diploma) or above

GCA will also accept applications for students who wish to transfer from another Australian university or independent higher education provider.

We also consider applications submitted by working professionals who do not meet the relevant educational requirements, providing you can show proof of relevant work and life experience.

Applicants who have not completed at least the NSW HSC or VCE (or their equivalent in Australia), or an AQF Level 5 qualification in Australia or a country where English is the first language, must prove adequate English language proficiency.

International Students

Admission to all undergraduate courses offered at AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) and above, including the Bachelor of Business, require the completion of:

  • Overseas university qualifications at the level of Bachelor degree or higher
  • International Baccalaureate with a mark comparable to an ATAR of 67.95 or higher, completed in the previous three (3) years

We also consider applications submitted by working professionals who do not meet the relevant educational requirements, providing you can show proof of relevant work and life experience.

Credit and Prior Learning

Credit

GCA recognises prior learning through various mechanisms as outlined in our Recognition of Prior Learning Policy. These mechanisms include:

  • Block credit
  • Specified credit
  • Unspecified credit
  • Credit transfer
  • Conditional credit

Each application will be assessed on an individual basis by qualified staff with relevant expertise in the discipline area. Applications should be made as early as possible before enrolling in units to allow for processing and consideration of any credit awarded.

GCA recognises prior learning through various credit mechanisms, as outlined in the Recognition of Prior Learning Policy. GCA formally recognises prior learning achievements in various ways, including:

Formal Learning

GCA recognises formal learning delivered through recognised institutions and organisations, leading to qualifications or certified achievements, including those awarded by recognised higher education providers, accredited vocational education providers, professional bodies or associations or structured workplace training programs leading to recognised qualifications.

Professional and Academic Experience

Additionally, GCA recognises professional and academic achievements and contributions in professional practice, academic disciplines, and industry leadership, acknowledging expertise developed outside traditional education pathways. This may include leadership roles in a relevant professional field, significant industry experience, and industry-recognised innovations and achievements.

Non-Formal Learning

GCA may also grant recognition for non-formal learning or educational activities that occur outside formal qualifications that demonstrate achievements of specific knowledge and skills. This may include structured workplace training, professional development programs, specialised technical training,  professional body education programs, or micro-credentials awarded by GCA or selected institutions.

To enrol to study your Bachelor of Business, you must complete the enrolment form here.

Before submitting your application, please ensure you have electronic copies of your personal identification documents, academic certificates of completion and academic transcripts. These documents must be attached to your online application.

Once you have submitted your application, one of our admissions consultants will be in touch with you. If you are successful, you will receive a letter of offer from our admissions team.

If you are outside of Australia and intend to apply for a student visa, you will be required to pay a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) Fee as part of your tuition fees.

Completion Requirements

Bachelor of Business

To be awarded the Bachelor of Business, students must successfully complete all 24 units, totalling 240 credit points. This qualification is designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs and business professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in a competitive global environment. Students also have the option to exit the program with a lower-level qualification, such as a Diploma or Associate Degree, upon meeting the relevant requirements.
