Publications

What Can We Learn from Everyday Successful Australian Entrepreneurs?

GCA has commissioned Cyril Jankoff and Daniel Bendel to author a second publication focused on entrepreneurship, aimed at enriching the learning experience of both undergraduate and MBA students. The primary objective of this work is to provide new local and international students with an authentic understanding of contemporary Australian business success. To achieve this, the authors profile 15 established entrepreneurs through in-depth interviews, offering real-world insights into the characteristics, challenges, and achievements that define successful entrepreneurial practice in the Australian context.

Transitioning to Online Learning During COVID-19 – Reflections by Practitioners

Under the editorial leadership of Professor Angus Hooke and Emeritus Professor Greg Whateley, GCA has recently published the hardcover volume Transitioning to Online Learning During COVID-19 – Reflections by Practitioners. This publication reflects GCA’s ongoing commitment to a culture of academic scholarship by offering staff across all levels—academic, managerial, administrative, and support—the opportunity to share their perspectives on the unprecedented shift to online education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

By capturing and analysing these diverse experiences, the volume contributes meaningfully to the broader discourse on the impact of global disruption on higher education. Such scholarly work not only documents institutional resilience and innovation but also provides valuable insights that can inform future practice and policy within the higher education sector.

Vol 1, Business War Stories From The Trenches

Every business—and indeed every individual—encounters challenges, both anticipated and unforeseen. Authored by Cyril Jankoff and Daniel Bendel (CFE Fellow), this publication presents a curated collection of fifteen insightful case studies that explore the complexities of establishing, managing, and concluding business ventures.

Drawing on the authors’ extensive professional experience, the book examines real-world scenarios that highlight both successful outcomes and difficult lessons, with particular attention to the financial dimensions of each case. This resource offers valuable practical insights for students, entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking a deeper understanding of the dynamic nature of business operations across the full lifecycle of an enterprise.
